When you use SoftCrush, we may collect:
- Account information, such as email address, encrypted authentication details, and date of birth
- Profile information, such as name, age, city, bio, interests, photos, communities, and connection preferences
- Approximate location information to help show nearby people, groups, and events
- Messages and conversations you send through the app
- Connection activity, including connection requests, accepted connections, blocks, reports, joined groups, and event RSVPs
- Basic device, usage, and diagnostic information to help keep the app secure and reliable
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your SoftCrush account
- Show you people, groups, events, and interests that may be relevant to you
- Enable connection requests, messaging, group discovery, and event RSVP features
- Personalise your experience based on your interests and preferences
- Keep the community safe through moderation, blocks, reports, and safety tools
- Communicate important service, security, or account updates
- Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share limited information where needed to provide or protect the service:
- Other users may see parts of your profile, such as your name, age, photos, bio, interests, city, groups, connection preferences, and approximate distance
- Service providers, including Supabase, may process data for authentication, database, storage, and app infrastructure
- Legal authorities, if required by law or necessary to protect user safety, rights, or security
4. Location Data
We use approximate location to help show nearby people, groups, and events. Your exact coordinates are not shown to other users. Other users may only see general location information or distance, where applicable. You can disable location access in your device settings.
5. Photos and Profile Content
Photos and profile content you upload may be visible to authenticated SoftCrush users as part of the app experience. Photos may be stored securely and accessed using signed URLs that expire over time.
6. Messages
Messages are used to provide conversations between connected users. We may review messages or reports where necessary for safety, moderation, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
7. Groups and Events
When you join groups or RSVP to events, this activity may be used to personalise your experience and show relevant communities, events, and people. Some group or event participation information may be visible to other users where it forms part of the app experience.
8. Your Rights
You may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile or account information
- Delete your account from Profile or Settings inside the app
- Ask questions or raise privacy concerns by contacting us
9. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days, except where we are legally required or permitted to retain it.
10. Age Requirement
SoftCrush is strictly for users aged 18 and older. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will take steps to remove the account.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Data is protected in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not stored in plain text by SoftCrush.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you by email, in-app notice, or by updating this page.
